Foodbank Victoria is an independent not-for-profit organisation with almost 90 years' experience providing food relief. We are the largest provider of food relief in Victoria, including in times of disaster as part of the State Relief and Recovery Team. Our vision is healthy food for all Victorians, yet 1 in 7 people struggle to afford food and 1 in 7 children go to school hungry. To ensure we can reach as many people as possible, we work with food donors across the supply chain to source edible food from farmers, manufacturers and retailers. Food is then distributed to our network of 450 charity partners around the state, helping to feed more than 100,000 Victorians every month.
JobCo. Employment Services Inc. and Family Life have created a Memorandum of Understanding for Participation in Family Life's PeopleWorx Programs which run out of Cheltenham, Chelsea and Frankston Op Shops. The partnership offers support to young people and adults who have been absent from the workforce or disengaged from school or the community. The program provides an opportunity for people to re engage in the community and return to the workforce in a supported environment. Deliverables of this partnership are running the Reconnections Social Group and Overcoming Unhelpful Thinking group.
JobCo. Employment Services has been successful in obtaining some funds for the voluntary "Vocational Support for Carers of People with a Mental Illness program". It is recognised that these carers are particularly marginalised, both economically and socially from the mainstream community. Many carers have impressive work histories, skills or dreams of what they would like to do. Staff on this program provide support for the carers who want to pursue their vocational options whilst maintaining their role.
Carers Victoria provide services such as respite services, advice, counselling and information to assist carers to maintain their caring role. JobCo. and Carers Victoria provide complimentary services to Carers.
